![]() ![]() ![]() The entire finite element analysis is carried out in WALLAP, commercially available software widely used for the deep excavation metro problems. This paper is focusing on the performance of secant pile wall due to various parameters like diameter of secant pile, overlapping distance of primary and secondary piles, material of pile, drained and undrained conditions of the soil, and struts and anchor configuration using finite element analysis. Secant pile walls are constructed in a row of overlapping primary unreinforced plain cement concrete with low strength piles and secondary reinforced concrete piles with relatively high strength bored piles. ![]() This paper particularly focuses on the temporary secant pile walls. The construction of underground metros is governed majorly by construction methodology and type of retention systems to be used. However, as mentioned, urbanized cities are densely populated and have land constraints, the choice of elevated metros is reducing gradually, and construction of underground has significantly increased. To overcome this, elevated and underground metros play a significant role in reaching the farthest point in a city with less time. The commuting in the urbanized cities in India is becoming very difficult due to heavy traffic and dense population. ![]()
